Hello Everyone!

My life is full of sunlight and jet lag, but it is all going to mellow out very soon. I think. I say. I hope. 

In the near future, I hope to give you a complete update on my travel and quilting adventures, especially all the details on MOROCCO including the fabulous news that I will be going back, and you should absolutely join me. I will be traveling with Amazigh Cultural Tours September 6—20, 2025. You can find out more by clicking here. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience. 

The other big news is that the BIG TADA is happening on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, and you are invited! This event is free and open to the public on ZOOM!

What is the BIG TADA? It is an amazing quilt event that happens once a year. From January to June, my Stitching Towards Discovery students work hard at creating quilt portfolios of four to six quilts. We meet twice a month for guest speakers, social hours, and feedback and consultation sessions. The students also find support, community, and fun in their private Facebook group. It was a wonderful semester. To conclude our time together, we always celebrate with an open to the public event called the BIG TADA. 

In some ways, the BIG TADA is a graduation ceremony. It is an opportunity for other quilters to celebrate each “graduating” student’s hard work. Each Stitching Towards Discovery student has prepared a short presentation of four to six quilts that they will share. While enjoying these super cool original quilt compositions, we will also learn a bit about each maker—why they signed up for the class, what they accomplished and learned, and where they are going next on their quilting journey.

And the last bit of news for this email is that I am launching a new six month workshop called PROMPTOPIA! Promptopia is all about getting your quilting mojo going in a fun and supportive environment. We will meet twice a month—always on Thursdays— from July to December, 2024. Each month, I will introduce a quilt design exercise (aka as a prompt) to get your creativity buzzing. We will have a private Facebook group AND a guest artist every month who will do the prompt too and share details about their process, thoughts, setbacks, and, of course, their final composition. Enrollment is limited to 25, so don’t wait! I think it will be an amazing adventure for all who participate, including me! You can sign up here. 

Besides Promptopia, the rest of my Virtual Workshop Schedule for 2024 has been scheduled including a virtual version of Big Botany.  If you have been wanting to take this class, now is the time! I will also be teaching Big Botany live and in person at Woodland Ridge Retreats April 29—May 3, 2025.
